Last 26 April the Transformation Lab, organized by the University of Western Brittany (UBO), kicked off in Brest. In this event, researchers and stakeholders from all partners of the European University of the Seas (SEA-EU) joined to discuss on the main challenges for sustainable research and the future of the socio-ecosystems around all partner universities of the SEA-EU Alliance.
The introductory meetings held on Tuesday 26 served to share each partner’s previous experiences communicating science to the public as well as making the public part of science itself through co-creation or participative research projects.
At the same time, this initial session provided a good theoretical basis for several on-site visits around the French city of Brest, where the participants will have the opportunity to interact directly with local stakeholders thus strengthening ties between academia, society and business.
