About him

As a data scientist with Oceanography Malta Research Group, I have been involved in a number of projects involving setting up operational observing systems within the Sicily Channel. My Ph.D. research was on the applications of Machine Learning techniques on mega-dimensional datasets. When not chasing mermaids, I lecture with the Department of Geosciences within the Faculty of Science.

Meaning and value of Open Science

Open Science is a platform that encourages more interaction between scientists thereby resulting in better scrutiny of the results obtained. It also promotes the participation of the public through Citizen Science initiatives.

Expectations for reSEArch-EU

The reSEArch-EU project can help spread Open Science by organising events within the alliance where ambassadors can promote the message amongst their colleagues.
