On 10th of October, the UG Welcome Center hosted newly employed academic teachers who started their adventure with science at the University of Gdańsk in the new academic year 2023/2024. The meeting under the slogan “Science – Info Day” was held for the first time on the initiative of the Science Office Director, Katarzyna Świerk, PhD, who on behalf of the rector’s authorities, welcomed the newly hired employees to the academic community of the University of Gdańsk. The aim of the meeting was primarily to present the organizational units that support scientific research at our university, which will significantly facilitate the first steps in carrying out scientific research. “Scientific development is not possible without the individual commitment of researchers, and we are here to support you on this path”, assured the Science Office Director.

During the Info Day representatives of the Science Office, the Project Support and Preparation Office – Project Incubator and the Project Implementation Support Office provided the most important information useful in scientific and research work. It was a chance to meet members of the team supporting research and development activities and establish first contacts. Meeting participants also had the opportunity to listen to presentations by employees of the University of Gdańsk Library, which included the most important functionalities of the UG repository and research data management issues.
